Solar Power For Homes Promoting its Use July 25, 2010

The city of San Francisco where turning  green is becoming a lifestyle  and is fast becoming a world leader in the use of solar energy  and is involved in a lot  of political and policy moves to progress  the development of renewable  technologies . Together  the Bay Area and San Francisco have come up with an creative  way of promoting  the future  of home solar power

All over  the area  solar panels are visible on thousands  of rooftops , giving  power  to some of the  biggest  complexes  and soon  the famous  Alcatraz Island will be among  the exclusive group.

From now on  householders  can get  loans from the city to cover the cost of installing  solar power systems in their homes , repayments are made easy because  the city facilitates  the repayments through  enhanced  property taxes.  This removes  the single largset  deterrent for many homeowners, that of the up-front costs of retail  installation of solar power systems, which can be considerable at current  rates of approximately  $20,000 for the average house .

These loans range from  the lowest amount  of $5,000 to the highest amount of $50,000 or ten percent of the properties  value whatever is least . The payback period is up to twenty  years and the loan is tied  to the home  and not to the individual so when the house is sold the balance of the loan is passed on  to the new owner.

Pressure should now be put  on other cities and States to pursue   this Green trend as San Francisco demonstrates the future for home solar power.

Till such time as  the rest  of the country  catches up with the free-thinking  policies of the San Francisco and the Bay Area,   then the most practical  way to get solar power  for the rest of country is to look into the extensive range of solar power kits available. This will allow you to build your own solar panels at a fraction of commercial costs , with these kits  you will be able to begin your solar system by making  your first  solar panel for about  $100. The guides  will show  you how to design, construct, install and hook up you solar panels, to give you a valuable source of energy with all the benefits that it offers in the form of cheaper power .

It will probably be a while before such grants are readily available  to the rest of us , we can all claim  Alternative Energy rebates for any property  owner that installs  alternative power  systems in their property, which  will payback a portion  of the cost of fitting .

There is a great business opprtunity for the small entrepreneur, an opening to  start ï»¿ a new venture ï»¿ immediatley with the knowledge you have gained on home solar power and now grow ï»¿ your own ï»¿ Green Business. All available for the modest cost of   the instruction manuals and videos in the kits, and the hands ï»¿ experience you got through the construction ï»¿ of their own solar energy system.

The increasing public awareness and interest in using solar energy in their houses , will certainly result in an increase ï»¿ in the demand for Green businesses to make solar systems, and follow the lead set by San Francisco with its innovative way of promoting the future of solar power for homes
